Point-of-Care Rapid Diagnostics Technology (RDT) for Global Health

Tuesday, August 6, 10 – 10:20 a.m.
Exhibit Hall, Theater 3
Supported by Global Health Innovative Technology Fund (GHIT Fund)

There is a pressing need for the availability of low-cost, high-quality diagnostic tools deployable in low-resource settings to address neglected tropical diseases. Tools that enable rapid and accurate detection of these diseases are important for getting patients appropriate treatments as well as for monitoring disease-control efforts to conduct surveillance for disease reemergence after presumed elimination. GHIT Fund is a public-private partnership that invests in innovative product development. We will introduce our investment model and would welcome any interested organizations to apply for funding to change the world.

Attendees will learn to:

  • Identify current needs for RDTs for global health applications.
  • Find new R&D funding opportunities for RDT development for global health applications.
  • Meet and network with organizations that are interested in this field.
